Dental Crowns

crownCrowns are full-coverage restorations that are used to protect and repair badly damaged teeth. Dr. Timmerman typically provides crowns on teeth that:

Crowns are sometimes called “caps.” They cover the entire tooth above the gumlines if the tooth is damaged from decay, a large crack, or has had root canal treatment done. Dr. Timmerman implements porcelain materials in his crown treatments, allowing him to provide a strong yet aesthetic approach to crown treatment. In addition to full porcelain crowns, we also offer full gold crowns when necessary. Gold has some advantages, especially if used on a back tooth that experiences a severe amount of pressure day after day.

Fix Your Broken Teeth with Full Dental Crowns in Seattle

Putting off treatment for your broken tooth will only allow it to continue breaking. At some point, it will be too compromised to continue functioning any longer. Placing a full crown on the tooth will allow Dr. Timmerman to restore strength, function, and aesthetics to your smile. If your crown is porcelain, we will use detailed color-matching systems that ensure your final restoration blends right in with your other teeth.

Your treatment will take two appointments. During the first visit the tooth will be prepped and an impression taken so that the customized crown can be made. A temporary crown will be placed over the tooth until you come back. In about 2 weeks your permanent crown is ready for delivery. Dr. Timmerman will remove your temporary crown and permanently bond the final crown in place.

Once your crown is placed, it’s important to take extra care of it by brushing along the gumlines and flossing it at least once each day. Routine cleanings will also help prevent problems like gum disease from developing around your treatment investment! Be sure to visit our Seattle office at least twice a year for professional cleanings and an exam by Dr. Timmerman to ensure the health of your smile.

Crowns Restore Health and Beauty

Crowns can be one of the most beautiful restorations that you’ve had. When Dr. Timmerman’s skilled hands help craft them, crowns can enhance the way your teeth look when you’re smiling. Not only does this keep your smile healthier, it also boosts your self-confidence and helps you feel at ease when you’re around other people.

Porcelain Crowns

Dr. Timmerman provides customized shade matching which allows our crowns to blend in with the patient’s natural smile. The treatment is a two-visit process with the tooth preparation and impression made at the first visit; the second visit is approximately two weeks later and allows for the permanent crown to be bonded into place. Don’t worry; we use an appropriate temporary crown in the meantime to keep you smiling!
