Dental Bonding

Blending science and precision to create the best smile possible.

The Simplicity and Dramatic Look of Dental Bonding

What is Dental Bonding?

Composite dental bonding uses restorative tooth colored material to re-build or cover irregularities in tooth enamel. The material is placed on the tooth to enhance the appearance of teeth that are otherwise healthy. Bonding requires one easy application that can be done quickly and painlessly in just one appointment. The material literally bonds to your teeth and allows it to look and feel as if it is a normal tooth. Aesthetic composite bonding is an affordable alternative to porcelain veneers. They are directly sculpted by Dr. Timmerman’s trained eye, reflecting significant results once applied to the teeth.

Bonding can be used for:

  • Chipped teeth
  • Gaps between the teeth
  • Enamel abrasion along the gumlines
  • Enamel irregularities
  • Short teeth
  • Misshapen teeth
  • Discolored teeth

The quick and affordable procedure is a wonderful cosmetic option for almost any dental patient. Dr. Timmerman is a dental artist, blending science and precision together to create the best smile possible.

How Long Does it Take?

An appointment for dental bonding can vary, depending on how many teeth are being treated. In most cases it takes no more than an hour for the entire visit. Anesthesia is sometimes not even necessary!

First, the tooth is gently roughened with an etching material so that the bonding can adhere permanently to the tooth’s surface. A shade is taken so that the final bonding restoration will blend in with the tooth, and then the resin is placed on the tooth and shaped by Dr. Timmerman in the appropriate manner. A laser is used to harden the material, which is then polished and adjusted for the final appearance of a smooth sheen.

“The beautiful thing about composite dental bonding is that other people won’t be able to see it. I carefully select the color to blend right in with the rest of your tooth surface. I will place the composite material on the tooth, shape it into its desired form, and the end result appears as if it were your natural tooth.”
